Abstract:

These interviews highlight the lives of eleven Japanese American coeds (chiefly women) who studied at the University of California Berkeley from the 1930's to 1951, and includes their options available during the World War II evacuation/exclusion of all persons of Japanese ancestry from the Western Defense Area. Interviews were conducted by board members of the Japanese American Women Alumnae of the University of California, Berkeley.
